Soothing hot spring waters

Kinosaki Onsen was said to have been established as a hot spring destination 1,300 years ago when a stork was seen healing its wounds in the spring waters. Kinosaki is also mentioned in the "Kokin Wakashu", a collection of ancient Japanese poems and has been visited by nobles and literary figures over the years. Immerse yourself in the historic waters of Kinosaki and savor a relaxing bath in its charming, traditional hot springs.

Three hot spring baths
of Nishimuraya Honkan

In the mid 1700's Kinosaki Onsen was visited by Dr. Shutoku Kagawa who bathed at what is now Ichino-yu public hot spring and praised it as the "best hot spring in Japan". Dr. Kagawa was an early proponent of the medical benefits of hot springs. Since then, Kinosaki Onsen has become known nationwide. At Nishimuraya Honkan, you can enjoy three distinct hot spring baths: Japanese-style, Chinese-style and a bath located in the Hiratakan Annex.
